Under direction, works on a diverse range of activities involved in golf course maintenance and construction. Learn the proper, safe, and efficient use of a wide variety of equipment. Works as a member of a team with the common goal of providing the best possible appearance and playing condition of the golf course.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
- Operates power equipment in mowing golf course greens, tees, fairways, and roughs.
- Rakes and maintains sand bunkers.
- Operates handheld trimmers, mowers, and blowers.
- Changes hole and tee locations.
- Maintains ball washers, trash cans, and drinking stations.
- Hand waters areas of greens, tees, and fairways when needed.
- Removes trash and debris from the golf course and project areas.
- Assists in irrigation repairs.
- Operates light utility vehicles in performing their duties.
- Assists in construction such as grading, preparing the soil, seeding, and sodding of turf.
- Cleans and cares for all equipment used.
- Keep tools and equipment storage area clean and organized.
- Performs duties assigned by supervisor.
- Cleans up after themselves in common areas.
- Works well with and assists co-workers in the performance of their duties.
Standards and Qualifications:
- Previous golf course or landscaping experience preferred, but not required.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a variety of weather conditions.
- Must be willing to learn safe and efficient use of mowers and tools.
- Ability to work early and long hours and not be subject to burnout or moodiness.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be a team player and have a positive attitude.
The Green Staff will report directly to the Golf Course Superintendent and/or Assistant Superintendent. This is a seasonal hourly paid position with uniforms and golf privileges provided.
